Welcome to the Vikings hangout
Judd will join in a second here. Whaddya got?
He left because the Vikings held interviews for his job while he was still in the building. So, yes, there is some bad blood, I would imagine. If Frazier is gone that might change things but I'm willing to bet Spielman also was involved in the decision to change coordinators. Also, Bevell always will be seen as a Brad Childress guy and at Winter Park that's not a good thing.
5 percent. Don't see it happening. Kevin Williams has been a great player for this team but the philosophy as to move on
Jones, I think it's slim to none. He already accepted less money this season, but it's tough to factor him into the plans with his cap hit.
They can. But he'll be the backup at best. It's clear what you've got with him.
That's a great question, Jorge. Cole, it seems, is going to be given a legitimate shot to be the MLB. Sendejo is the more intriguing case, because I personally see a backup. But Andrew Krammer, who watches the film more closely than I do, says Sendejo is coming on lately. So I'll trust him on that.
I think the Vikings will have to kick the tires on every QB situation this offseason. The question will become what do the Redskins want for a quality but unproven QB? Price might be too high. I'm sure the VIkings will check.
Yes. Durability is my only question.
Jared Allen is a goner. We'll get to draft questions a little later in the chat. Hint: QB early
I really like Cutler, Jerry, but i think the prevailing wisdom right now says get a long-term answer. I say take a shot with Peterson in his prime, bring Cutler in and try to capture lightning in a bottle,
I'd say in order the Vikings need to get help at cornerback, MLB, nose tackle and then safety. Chris Cook should be gone and they might need a nickel corner as well. Is Cole the answer at MLB? Depends on the type of defense they play. The Vikings also must improve at stopping the run and having a guy to plug in the nose will be important.
Well, you're wrong. So we'll just move on.
I'm not a huge fan of Cutler's as a person but you wouldn't mind seeing him zip the ball around the field and making quick decisions.
Well, it gives Spielman an excuse to not go near free agency because most players are going to balk unless the money is huge. Spielman's goal is to build through the draft and not free agency so I don't think he's going to mind. That is assuming the Vikings don't make any front office changes, too.
15 percent. I think being arrested a few weeks back probably has the Vikings ready to move on. So does the fact that Patterson can play and needs to play as much as possible. Spielman did not draft Patterson so he could sit.
I see Percy minus the off-field problems. I really like Patterson's talent and he's certainly a long-term mainstay
I think if Frazier is out they are all gone. Can't see them making the new coach keep anyone on the staff.
That will be up to the new coach and new DC. The funny thing is that no one really plays a 4-3 or 3-4 anymore, although that can be your base defense. But the new coach will have a huge say on that. Everson Griffen would probably be more likely to return with a switch to a 3-4.
Buy the book. I know I will.
You're absolutely right. It depends what they do with Simpson (who they might be able to bring back cheap if they way). But even if not, Jennings is a possession guy, CP84 is the playmaker. Rudolph is nice, Carlson is nothing special. It's quietly a pretty good group if you get a good QB
That is all well and good but if you're Freeman why would you return. The Vikings signed you for $2 million and then stashed you on the roster after making a fool of you. That means they cost you any chance you had of getting a long term deal this offseason at a decent price and instead started Christian Ponder. So, let me get this straight, the Vikings are then going to come to you and say, "Let's do a new deal at our price." If you're Freeman you are going to tell them to find the tallest building. The Vikings ruined Freeman's long term value and made him look like a fool. So he's going to come back why?
He can but he won't. You see the kid last night? Keenan Allen is SD is my pick.
