Welcome to this week's 1500ESPNLive Vikings event, glad to have you in the discussion. I opened the chat a little early today to get the conversation going. I'm in studio to watch today's Vikings game, and Judd and Dubay will join me in studio and in the chat room in about an hour.
My concern with Freeman: the investment in Cassel was a big waste, right? Maybe that shouldn't matter, and the team just needs to upgrade (if you think Freeman is indeed an upgrade).
I think so. Lost in all the Ponder hate: he has the potential to be a decent NFL backup. The Vikings likely just drafted him too high.
I'll wait until this afternoon to say what I think needs to happen if the Vikings are 0-4. I have a pretty strong feeling about what needs to happen at that point though...
I took the Vikings in the pick 'em challenge though, so I believe they can win.
Judd & Dubay are joining at noon. And then they'll stick around to run the VentLine postgame.
Agreed. Perhaps an underrated key to this game: Vikings pass rush vs. Steelers crummy O-line.
And let's not forget, with the Vikings defense this season, teams can game plan to stop Allen. Not many other threats opposing offenses need to be worried about.
Lions game plan is a perfect example. Dink and dunk over the middle to Reggie Bush/Joique Bell; when you do throw deep, ramp up protection and hit a receiver down field.
