Welcome to the Vikings gameday chat. We opened an hour early to get you a chance to discuss the game before it kicks off. Stay with us as long as you'd like; we'll be here throughout the game and all the way through Vikings VentLine following the game.
I'm pretty surprised, to be honest. I said at the time Ponder was benched that he may start again for the Vikings -- weird things happen in sports -- but this degree of confidence or defiance is surprising.
I've stopped trying to figure out the Vikings' quarterback situation. Too many variables and moving parts.
What do you guys think about Dez Bryant this week? He gets to face a week Vikings' secondary, and if you believe the narrative, he has something to prove this week. How will the Vikings contain him?
It's my contention that he should play Thursday against Washington.
If they're 1-7 and not going to the playoffs, the last thing that's relevant to your season is to figure out if you need to draft a QB or if Josh Freeman is the Vikings' 2014 QB.
Anybody watch Johnny Football last night against UTEP? ....
If I were a Vikings fan, I'd prefer they drafted an interior defensive lineman. Seems to me that Griffen/Robison could be just fine at DE, and Shariff Floyd can play one tackle, but who else fills in competently at the other tackle position?
Against Pittsburgh in Week 4 across the pond... Seriously.
Depends what you're trying to do. Want to win? Yeah, he should probably get a steady diet of touches. Want to draft high next year? 10-15 touches is just fine.
That was before I was a member of the media and cared about objectivity. Eddie George, Steve McNair, Yancy Thigpen, Frank Wycheck and Jeff Fisher.
The 2000 Super Bowl was a little difficult for me.
Haha, yeah sure is. And his NW Wildcats, don't forget.
I don't have a big problem with media members having favorite teams, it keeps them passionate about sports. I just don't have rooting interests anymore, and I still like it just fine.
