Seems like about half the league uses a 3-4 defense, runs no-huddle, read-option and/or something else innovative. The Vikings are a throwback to 1995.
I'm intrigued by that take.
Andy, which players would you see fitting better in that system than the current one? I'm just curious
He'll stay with Chicago. But Philip Rivers and the Chargers could part ways. I'd be down for that. I'm a huge Philip Rivers apologist. Mostly because his name is Philip.
@Lars, Is that true? I haven't heard of that change, but I've been stretched with other sports. That's a much fairer system, if they did make the switch.
There are interesting articles on what the Orioles and Rays are doing. The Rays have had a miniscule number of pitcher injuries. You can Google search it.
It happened four years ago this week.
@PhilMackey: SI did a good piece on the Rays, if I remember correctly. They move everyone really slowly and draft a TON of pitchers. The Orioles, speaking from experience covering them, have been magicians with roster management and bullpens the past two years.
@boylan: OK, thanks. Something to keep an eye on for sure.
This has been a heck of a talk. HECK of a talk today, guys.
Four years! Doesn't seem like that long ago but yeah I still remember where I was when it happened, actually. And I'm not even a Vikings fan.
Yeah thanks for stopping by guys. Any last-minute comments to get out?
Aside from the Undertaker moving to 20-0 with a Hell in a Cell victory over HHH at WrestleMania two years ago, the Favre-to-Lewis play was probably the most exciting sporting event I've been too... Maybe Game 163.
Otherwise, we'll be doing this every Tuesday. Next week I think Judd will be joining me.
It wouldn't be Singletary. He isn't highly regarded. Probably Musgrave?
I agree, probably Musgrave... But I think that's a mistake
We love it, Bob. I get to sleep until 3:30 in the afternoon now. It's great. Except for today.
@Harry: You can still just pose all the questions to me. Haha
Andy, if that's true, that's a Leslie problem.
Thanks for chatting, folks. I've got to go see what Pat wants to rant about on today's show. See you at 4:00.
I don't have a good read yet on the relationship. A big development this season, to be sure
