Hey everyone, welcome to the Vikings livechat. Plenty to talk about today. Start lining up your questions.
Mackey will join me at times throughout the hour. So I'm sure you'll have to endure a wrestling video or two.
Well Josh Robinson did break up a pass. So there's that!
And several offensive players had to break up passes, too. But it's tough to watch that game in real time and come up with many silver linings, individually.
I don't see the need to fire a coach now because there's no easy answer to fill his shoes in the interim.
That said, not sure how a coaching staff survives 3 brutal games like this.
Agree. They should move Allen as soon as they can and hope to get anything of value in return.
Yeah, that logic makes more sense to me than firing Frazier. But I still fall back on the same logic that a move now for the sake of making a move isn't productive.
Ha, you'd have to ask someone smarter than me.
I agree with that assessment. I'm writing a story later today based on Carter's comments earlier today on Mike & Mike. O-Line has struggled most of the season, so I don't think it's a morale issue.
Why would he want this job?
Walked away when he was on top in Indy, nothing left to prove.
Yeah, fair point. Still don't think it's an effort or morale problem
I'm really not good at assessing what value teams can extract from certain players. I tend to avoid speculating on the return on assets, but I will say this: the Vikings wouldn't miss any of those players.
If you could move them and get value in return, well that would probably make sense at this point.
Perhaps. But Winfield was cut in Seattle. Would he help? Almost definitely, but I don't think all the problems stem from a personnel decision like that.
And no, I don't think that about Loadholt.
Haven't seen the line yet, but that ball in the end zone should have been caught yesterday. Freeman's line would have looked a little better
Especially considering how frequently the Giants went with the "A-gap blitz." ...
That's kind of the question right now. Clearly defense needs the help, but a great QB can mask a lot of problems in a hurry. I want to let the season play out before throwing my opinion out on that, because it could change.
Whoops, that was meant to be in response to another comment.
There, that's what Phil thinks
I'm not ready to cut bait on Freeman after one game for which he was clearly not prepared
