We'll open the Twins hangout very soon. Phil and I are setting up. Send us any questions or opinions you have, and we'll get to as many as we can today.
And I want to mention before we get started that this chat is brought to you by the 2014 Venture Bank Minnesota Golf Show
I think Stephen Drew would make a lot of sense, but at this point I'm pretty sure the Twins aren't looking to add Drew (draft pick)
Hicks should start the year on the major league roster, but my thought is that Presley is the starting center fielder. I'm curious to see what kind of spring Hicks has.
That was just a graphics goof on my part and it was more work than it was worth to fix it.
Trust me, I'll keep Judd FAR away from this chat! Never fear
Up to you. But if Hicks doesn't improve on his rookie season, you're looking at merely a placeholder until Buxton is summoned.
I went to the small conference yesterday with the doctor, Dave St. Peter and Rob Antony
The word is that pretty much nothing will change in the front office
it's a group that has been together so long, they no longer have to worry about or think about 'what would Terry do?'
So, in short, I don't expect anything to happen that would not have happened under Ryan's guidance
I'll give you 2 out of 3, but there's no purpose to start the season with Buxton on the Major League roster
Phil just plopped down with his egg salad and beef stew..... Just a fair warning for the wrestling video that's probably right around the corner
Hopefully he'll also answer a few baseball questions,
I've heard the inside track goes to Sam Deduno. But inevitably someone will get hurt
I'm writing about this conversation for the website, so check out that piece for my full thoughts on the "5th starter"
(sneak preview, there's not really such thing as a 5th starter)
Trevor Plouffe -- last chance, yes. He's out of minor league options, he has no true defensive position (at least, none that he's good at), and he's got Miguel Sano nipping at his ass.
Ideally, Plouffe could be the Twins' Ben Zobrist. Except, the only difference is.... Ben Zobrist is good.
That's a lot of highway driving... I don't know if the authorities would allow that
Hope so. Twins and Dave St. Peter have been mum on that.
Darryl, I respect you. But I just cannot agree that TNA > WWE
I think Dozier becomes a better OBP hitter, with similar power to last year. He's one of the top 10 2B in baseball, IMO.
Improving on what he did in the second half? No, I don't see it. But I personally wouldn't be surprised to see him sustain that level of success. Others definitely have questioned that capability, so we'll have to wait and see
If you can get a guy to play good defense at second and get on base with occasional power, that's valuable.
